TwinFor Training at MECSPE 2026: Digital Twin and technical training in manufacturing
From March 4 to 6, Dimensione3 participated in MECSPE 2026 in Bologna, presenting TwinFor Training and a new way to integrate Digital Twin, training content and operational contexts.
The participation in the event was an opportunity to confront us with companies and professionals in the manufacturing sector on an increasingly central theme: how to make technical training closer to the reality in which people must actually operate.

Reduce the distance between theory and practice
Automation, increasing complexity of plants and need to continually update skills are transforming training processes in manufacturing.
Knowledge is normally transferred through manuals, procedures, presentations and structured courses. The experience, however, is built on machinery, plants and places where people operate every day.
Bringing training directly to the field is not always possible: the production lines are operational, the machinery can be complex, some environments have risks and the time of planting have significant costs.
The challenge is therefore not to choose between documentation and experience, but put them in relation.

TwinFor Training: the operating context enters training
TwinFor Training comes from this principle: creating a direct link between training content and operational reality through Digital Twins.
Documents, manuals, procedures and other teaching content can be synchronized with the Digital Twin of the real environment, allowing the user to switch from theory to exploration of spaces, plants and machinery to which the information refers.
Digital Twin thus becomes an integral part of the learning path: not an isolated simulation, but the digital representation of the real context in which information, procedures and knowledge acquire a spatial and interactive dimension.
A new format for technical training
Integration between content and Digital Twin opens new possibilities for onboarding, technical training, safety, professional updating and transfer of know-how, especially in the contexts in which access to productive environments can be difficult, expensive or not appropriate.
The experience at MECSPE 2026 allowed us to present this approach directly to the manufacturing world and to confront us about its possible applications in different industrial contexts.
Training remains structured in its contents, but acquires the context in which those knowledge must be applied: The theory remains theory, but it can finally be explored within the operational reality.
