Technical training: how to really verify the skills acquired?
Forming an operator is only a part of the process. The real question is: how to verify that you have acquired the skills necessary to operate correctly in the real context?
In technical training, the evaluation of learning is still a complex step. In many organizations it requires the support of experienced personnel, field tests and activities difficult to standardize.
The result can be a long and expensive process, strongly dependent on the availability of the most qualified and not always easily replicable on high numbers of operators.
Evaluate skills directly in the operating context
With TwinFor Training the verification of learning can take place directly within the Digital Twin of the working environment.
The operator can carry out independently contextualized tests in which questions do not refer to abstract situations, but to plants, machinery and equipment that will meet in real activity.
The answer can become an interaction with space itself: for example, by identifying with a click the correct component directly within the Digital Twin.
The verification thus passes from the simple answer to a question to the ability to recognize and apply a knowledge in the context in which it will actually be used.
An objective, traceable and scalable assessment
The system records the answers and results of the tests, allowing to document the level of learning achieved and build more structured and measurable evaluation processes.
This approach allows you to achieve:
- more immersive tests and close to operational reality;
- more objective evaluation criteria;
- recorded and traceable results;
- reduction of time required to the experienced personnel for verification;
- replicable processes on a greater number of operators.
From training to testing skills
Integrating training, operational context and evaluation in the same digital environment allows to build a more continuous path: learning a procedure, exploring where it will have to be applied and finally verifying the ability to correctly recognize real elements and situations.
With TwinFor Training, Dimensione3 is developing a new approach to technical training in which Digital Twins are not only tools to transfer knowledge, but also become part of the process with which to verify its actual acquisition.
